| kkkkkk | Hermes Institute was born in 1999, during the 1st Convention about Tourism in Salento, which took place in Gallipoli (Le) in "Le Sirenuse Hotel", organized by economists and professors competent on Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

Hermes Institute, to define its own objectives, makes a real reference to the Resolution OF THE EUROPEAN UNION COUNCIL OF 13.05.1996 (96C 155/01) about the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the tourist field and it intends to give a real expression, on the subject of tourism, to the Euro-Mediterranean partnership through: a) The promotion of several projects to improve the knowledge of the characteristics of Tourism in the Euro-Mediterranean area; b) The adoption, to realize this corporation on the subject of tourism, of several regional, multilateral or bilateral actions, above all in the information, formation and promotion fields; c) Interventions to make the most of human resources as developing factor of the tourist enterprises, above all of the small and medium enterprises and to improve the quality of the services offered to the tourists.
